Report from the Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan

Almaty, 18 August 2021 - Today, at 5.00 pm local time, Kazakhstan Air Force C-295 military transport aircraft landed safely in Almaty with 42 passengers evacuated from Afghanistan. Twenty-five Kazakh citizens, including 15 adults and ten children, along with Kazakh Embassy employees, arrived in Kazakhstan.

In addition, 14 Kyrgyz citizens were evacuated at Kyrgyzstan’s request. As a humanitarian operation, the plane also evacuated one Russian citizen and one Lithuanian citizen who contacted the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Afghanistan with a request for assistance.
