Portuguese Entrepreneurs Stand Prepared to Develop Trade Cooperation with Kazakhstan

Porto, September 29, 2021 – Kazakh Ambassador Daulet Batrashev held talks with the leadership of the Portuguese Entrepreneurial Association (AEP) to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The presentation of the investment opportunities of Kazakhstan provided up-to-date information on the investment climate and strategic location, as well as transit and transport potential of Kazakhstan.

Portuguese entrepreneurs learnt about activities of special economic zones, the AIFC, the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects and highly appreciated the measures taken by the government of Kazakhstan to protect and support foreign investors.

In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of organising a visit of Portuguese businessmen to Turkestan and the Turkestan region to explore the investment and trade potential of the region.

In his turn, AEP Administrator Paulo Vaz informed about the Association's intention to organise a mission of Portuguese businessmen headed by the AEP representative to Almaty at the end of October to establish partnerships and search for mutually beneficial projects.

As a result of the meeting, agreements on joint work with AEP to intensify bilateral economic cooperation in a number of specific areas and on organising a large scale Kazakh-Portuguese business forum in Porto next year were reached.
