Kazakhstan Manages New Vaccination for its Own Population

The country has become one of the 10 in the world to produce, at all stages, its own vaccine against COVID-19.
Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan announced that it had begun on Monday the vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine of its own production – QazVac.
On the occasion of the start of the vaccination campaign, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev commented that the country was one of the few to develop and produce its own vaccine for SARS-CoV-2 and acknowledged and showed his gratefulness to the scientists and all the experts involved in its development.
Apart from that, the Minister of Health Alexei Tsoi - who was among the first to obtain the vaccine, noticed and highlighted that "Kazakhstan is one of the 10 countries in the world that begun the production of its own vaccine and one of the five countries that independently carried out and started the entire vaccine production cycle - from development to application and use, which is a great achievement ", according to a statement sent to the newsrooms.
Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Lisbon Daulet Batrashev told Diario de Noticias that: "The production of QazVac is our pride, as well as a solid testimony of the country's scientific and industrial potential".
The QazVac vaccine is developed founded on a neutralized virus. After clinical trials, it appears to be 96% effective. The third testing phase is currently underway.
