Portugal's business community made aware of investment opportunities in Kazakhstan

On April 7, 2021, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Portugal together with the representative office of the National Welfare Fund «Samruk-Kazyna» held a webinar on investment opportunities in Kazakhstan for Portuguese businesses.

The event was attended by executives of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the «Kazakhstan-Portugal Chamber of Commerce», as well as heads of Portuguese companies operating in agriculture, renewable energy, infrastructure, information technology, etc., showing significant interest in starting and doing business in Kazakhstan.

During the event, there was a presentation on the activities of the «Samruk-Kazyna» Fund. A new investment model, strategic vision and privatization program of the Fund were presented. Special attention was paid to the tools for implementation of investment projects on the territory of Kazakhstan in the priority sectors. Representatives of the Fund stressed the openness of the Fund to dialogue and the establishment of new strategic partnerships with Portuguese companies to develop the country's economy.

The webinar was organized for a targeted audience to familiarize potential Portuguese investors with existing opportunities to invest in the national economy, ahead of organizing a visit of Portuguese entrepreneurs to Kazakhstan.
