In the run-up to the anniversary of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy took place the international conference “Path of the Leader”

On July 3, 2020, in Kyiv, in the run-up to the anniversary of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ukraine organized the international conference “Path of the Leader”.

While delivering the opening remarks, Ambassador Darkhan Kaletaev emphasized that for the citizens of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev is the personification and founding father of Independent Kazakhstan, the undisputed Leader of the nation. The Kazakh diplomat informed about the historical milestones of the country's development under the wise leadership of Elbasy. At the same time, it was especially noted that all the successes and achievements of the country are invariably associated with the name of the First President.

President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma (1994-2005) sent N.A. Nazarbayev a congratulatory message with warm wishes. “The main gift for you is the everyday happiness of seeing your brainchild, Independent Kazakhstan, as an ever stronger state. You and your homeland are inseparable from each other,” the letter goes.

The speech by Georgian ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili was very interesting and emotional. Mr. Saakashvili called the First President an outstanding international leader, "who not only has ideas, but can also realize them, achieve results." He emphasized that he considers N. Nazarbayev one of the most interesting statesmen included in the "five" of world leaders of the XX-XXI centuries. “Honesty, wisdom, balance” are the distinguishing features of N. Nazarbayev, the Ukrainian politician believes. At the same time, he noted that his departure at the "zenith" of political glory is a unique step that characterizes the First President of Kazakhstan. “What Nazarbayev did will remain in history for centuries, because it is built on a solid foundation,” summarized M. Saakashvili.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevgenii Yenin noted that N.A. Nazarbayev was the "architect" of modern Kazakh-Ukrainian relations, who made significant efforts for their development. He also added that his particularly warm attitude towards the Ukrainian people is appreciated in Ukraine and N. Nazarbayev is attributed to a galaxy of outstanding leaders of our time.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Grishchenko said that N.A. Nazarbayev is a man above politics, a true leader of his people. “From the first days, he saw Kazakhstan as a prosperous state,” the Ukrainian diplomat noted. He also emphasized the outstanding diplomatic skills of Elbasy, who has consistently worked to solve the problems of global and regional security. Such an approach, in his opinion, earned respect in the world community and allowed Kazakhstan to occupy an important place in the system of international relations.

President of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Anatolii Kinakh praised the model of socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was formed by the First President. He recalled that as the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, he repeatedly met with the Leader of Kazakhstan and always noted his high professional qualities and wise approach to problem solving. A. Kinakh highlighted that N. Nazarbayev is “a legendary person, a statesman of international scale”.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine, head of the Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Kazakhstan, Yevgeny Shevchenko believes that Kazakhstan is an example for many states, including Ukraine, in building international and inter-religious unity. “Nazarbayev’s policy of uniting and consolidating the nation has been bearing fruit for many years,” he said.

People’s Deputy of Ukraine Ivan Kirilenko revealed little-known pages in the history of Kazakh-Ukrainian relations. According to him, in 2003 (then he served as Vice Prime Minister for Agricultural Issues), Ukraine for the first time in 300 years lost its entire winter crop due to drought, the breadbasket was left without wheat. The country was on the verge of starvation. Seeking help from other states did not give results. And only N.A. Nazarbayev immediately responded to the request of L. Kuchma and echelons of Kazakhstan grain arrived in Ukraine.

President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine Gennady Chizhikov noted that “The first President of Kazakhstan as a true leader turned the business of Kazakhstan on the path to success, adopting the best practices of other countries.” To be able to attract more than $ 330 billion of foreign direct investment, to bring a huge number of multinational companies into the country, and to ensure the country's industrial development requires tremendous efforts and strong will. This is a good example for the development of the Ukrainian economy, Mr. Chizhikov said.

During the event, people's deputies from the parties “Sluga Narodu”, “Fatherland”, “Holos”, representatives of the academic and business circles, as well as the expert community had the floor.

The team of authors - “Friends of Kazakhstan” presented the book “Testing by History” dedicated to N. Nazarbayev, the work on which took 2 years and involved the use of archives both in Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
