The meeting between Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ukraine and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine took place

On May 6, 2020, the meeting between Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Darkhan Kaletaev and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladislav Kriklii took place.

The parties stated that Kazakhstan and Ukraine have a unique geographical position, being a natural “bridge” between Europe and Asia. This predetermines significant potential for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of transport and logistics. At the same time, one of the most important priorities in this direction is the development of the Trans-Caspian international route - Aktau-Baku-Batumi-Odessa.

During the conversation, the expediency of more active use of advanced digital technologies was noted. In this context, the Minister proposed to launch a pilot project of electronic exchange of permits for international transportation, which will simplify administrative procedures for road carriers in Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

The parties also expressed interest in implementing joint projects in the field of railway and automotive engineering. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan informed about the readiness of a number of Kazakhstani companies to participate in large investment infrastructure projects in Ukraine, primarily in the construction of roads and railways. Their participation in relevant tenders is expected.

At the end of the conversation, an agreement was reached to form a Roadmap for joint actions to intensify Kazakh-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of transport and communications.
