NEW YORK, September 24, 2019 — At the UN headquarters, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tileuberdi, held talks with Secretary-General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Thomas Greminger.
The Foreign Minister noted that as an active member of the OSCE, Kazakhstan is ready to expand cooperation with all member states of the Organization in order to ensure security and sustainable development across the territories of the OSCE. Kazakhstan’s commitment towards the joint efforts in resolving regional and global issues was also highlighted.
During the negotiations, Mr Greminger had been acquainted with the Three Dialogues initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan, Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev, on the formation of a global architecture of inclusive development.
In this regard, it was proposed to consolidate the capacities of the OSCE and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) for cooperation across Eurasia. An informal exchange of views, as well as comparing notes on further developing the geopolitical situation of these organizations, will provide an opportunity to establish common ground and develop future plans for inter-institutional cooperation.
The Secretary-General noted the effective activities of Kazakhstan within the framework of the OSCE and focused on the increased role of the country in regional and international politics.
