Particular attention was paid to systemic issues in investor support, the progress in establishing a “one-stop shop” for investors and the procedure for interaction when attracting investments in Nur-Sultan.
The Deputy Foreign Minister noted that it was not enough just to bring an investor to Kazakhstan, it was important to support the businessperson from the beginning to the full implementation of the project, as well as in the post-investment period.
The work with investors on all issues, their attraction and support of investment projects on a “one-stop-shop” basis is carried out by Kazakh Invest and the Astana Invest Development Center.
Ms Bekturova noted that one of the main instruments for attracting investments were the special economic zones “Astana — New City” and “Astana-Technopolis”. They function according to the “free economic zones” mechanism used globally as a tool to stimulate the flow of investment.
Today, Kazakh Invest is monitoring 9 metropolitan investment projects totaling $4.3 billion. Construction and installation work has already begun for 3 projects, 2 are under implementation, and another 4 projects are under development.
