Within the framework of the working visit of Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhyt Sultanov, to Ukraine, a number of meetings were held with top officials of Ukraine.
During the conversation with Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed. The parties noted the presence of many points of contact for the further development of trade and cooperation interaction, as evidenced by the results of the 14th meeting of the Joint Kazakh-Ukrainian Interstate Commission on Economic Cooperation. In turn, the signed Protocol of the meeting of the Commission is in fact a detailed "road map" of joint actions.
The parties agreed to ensure control over the implementation of the agreements reached and to maintain the dynamics of intergovernmental and interdepartmental contacts on a regular basis. “I am convinced that close interaction between our governments will contribute to the further growth of the economic indicators of the two countries,” said Denis Shmygal.
Issues of interaction in the field of digitalization and provision of IT services were discussed with Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov.
“We have something to share with each other,” the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized, accepting an invitation to visit Kazakhstan in order to substantively study promising projects and exchange experience in the provision of public services in a digital format.
In order to discuss further measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic, B. Sultanov also held talks with Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.
Considering the resumption of regular flights between the countries and the increased business activity of citizens of the two countries, the parties agreed to work out the issues of mutual recognition of passports/certificates of vaccination against COVID-19. At the same time, the Kazakh side informed about the development and production of its own vaccine QazVac and confirmed the readiness of its supply to Ukraine, including as a part of humanitarian aid.
The Kazakh Minister stressed that from the first days of the spread of the coronavirus, the parties established effective cooperation in the supply of humanitarian aid from China to Ukraine in transit through Kazakhstan (with a technical landing in the cities of Kazakhstan).
