On May 22, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Darkhan Kaletaev met with the Secretary of the Kharkiv City Council Igor Terekhov to discuss the project to erect a monument to Great Abai in one of the central squares of the city, the implementation of which was initiated by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Kharkiv E.Najafli.
During the meeting, the famous sculptor S.Kurbanov presented the work in the form of a triptych called "The Tree of Life". The composition consists of sculptures of outstanding representatives of the Kazakh, Ukrainian and Azerbaijani peoples - Abai Kunanbayev, Hryhorii Skovoroda and Myrza Fatali Akhundov. Their invisible connection is a huge contribution to the spiritual and moral enlightenment of their peoples, the wisdom and unconditional love for the Motherland tested over the centuries.
The total height of the monument, which will be located in a picturesque area of Kharkov, surrounded by fountains and greenery, is 4 meters. The square is 2 543 square meters.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan thanked the city authorities for their support, noting that the sculptural composition will further strengthen the spiritual ties between the fraternal peoples, and will also contribute to the wide recognition, development and cooperation of their culture and art.
“We accept this monument as a tribute to the respect of the Ukrainian people to the Kazakh people, the history and spirituality of Kazakhstan,” the Ambassador noted.
