On May 20, 2021, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ukraine Darkhan Kaletaev met with the Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz Yurii Vitrenko.

The Kazakh diplomat congratulated Yurii Vitrenko on his appointment to the high and responsible post of the head of the main oil and gas company of Ukraine and wished him further success in ensuring the country's energy security.

In this context, the parties discussed the prospects for further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ukraine.

Darkhan Kaletaev expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to share the experience accumulated over the years of independence in the field of exploration and production of oil and gas fields, as well as attracting foreign investments and advanced technologies for this purpose.

The parties agreed to hold negotiations at the expert level.

Note: Kazakhstan is one of the oil-producing countries of the world and has extensive experience in attracting large investors and transnational companies to the industry. Today, almost all the world's transnational oil companies operate in the country - Chevron, ENI, ExxonMobil, CNPC, Shell, Total and others.

Oil production in Kazakhstan over the years of independence has grown by 3.5 times - from 25 million tons in 1992 to 90 million tons in 2019. The volume of gas production in 2019 reached 56.7 billion cubic meters. The domestic market is fully supplied with national oil products.
