Readings in honor of the 175th anniversary of the Kazakh national poet Zhambyl Zhabayev were held in Kyiv

On the eve of birthday of the outstanding Kazakh folk poet-improviser Zhambyl Zhabayev, the Kazakh diaspora in Kyiv together with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ukraine held poetry readings in the building of the public library named after Zh.Zhabayev.

The participants of the event recited Zh.Zhabayev's poems in kazakh, ukrainian and russian languages ​​– «Taras», «Alatau», «Answer to the son» and others, reproduced his biography, and also organized a tea party with kazakh treats.

As is known, this year Kazakhstan celebrates the 175th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev. In Kyiv, one of the streets is named in his honor and a monument is erected in the Nyvky park.
