Regarding the meeting with the head of the Afghan National Disaster Management Authority

On April 29 of the current year, at the initiative of the Afghan side, a meeting was held between the Chargé d'Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Afghanistan, Mr. G.Akbassov, and the Head of the Afghan National Disaster Management Authority, Mawlawi A.N. Torabi.

          At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. A.N. Torabi expressed gratitude to the President and the people of Kazakhstan for the humanitarian assistance provided to Afghanistan, which arrived by train at the Hairatan station, as well as by air to the city of Kabul.

          For reference: On April 17 of the current year, a train carrying Kazakhstani humanitarian aid for the people of Afghanistan arrived at the Hairatan railway station (Balkh Province). The aid included wheat flour, vegetable oil, rice, blankets, and tents, with a total weight of 3,255 kg.

          On April 21 of the current year, a Kazakhstani delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. S. Zhumangarin, arrived in Kabul. During the visit, on behalf of the President and the people of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the second batch of humanitarian aid—consisting of medicines and medical supplies with a total weight of over 3.3 tons—was handed over at Kabul Airport.

         

          Mr. A.N. Torabi noted that the Republic of Kazakhstan has traditionally not left the people of Afghanistan alone in the face of disasters. He emphasized that the Afghan people feel the brotherly support of Kazakhstan and are deeply grateful to our country. Kazakhstan was one of the first to provide assistance to the Afghan people in 2021 and continues to support Afghanistan.

          During the meeting with the Head of the Afghan National Disaster Management Authority, Mawlavi A.N. Torabi, agreements of acceptance and transfer of humanitarian assistance were signed. As part of this process, certificates for previously delivered medical supplies were handed over to the Afghan side.

          In addition, a letter of appreciation was presented by the Head of the Afghan National Disaster Management Authority, Mawlavi A.N. Torabi, to Mr. G.Akbassov, the Chargé d'Affaires  of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Afghanistan, for the effective organization of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
