The Consul General of Kazakhstan met with the Head of the Police Department of the Makkah region

On February 6, this year, the meeting between Mr. Ruslan Kospanov, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Jeddah, and Major General Saleh Awad Al-Jabri, the Head of the Police Department of the Makkah region, was held.

The Consul General expressed gratitude to the Police Department of the Makkah region for ensuring security during the pilgrimage, as well as during major international events in Jeddah and the Makkah region.

As Mr. Ruslan Kospanov noted since October 2023, the Kazakh airline «Air Astana» and Saudi «Flynas» have opened direct scheduled flights on the Almaty-Jeddah-Almaty route, which contributed to an increase in tourist flow in both directions.

The topic of ensuring the safety of Kazakhstani pilgrims arriving to the Kingdom to perform Umrah and during the Hajj was also discussed.

In this regard, in order to avoid incidents and custodies of the pilgrims, the Kazakh diplomat drew attention to the need for the Saudi law enforcement bodies, to inform or provide information in advance about the rules of stay of foreign citizens in the country, especially when visiting holy places.

At the end of the meeting, Mr. Ruslan Kospanov expressed gratitude to the Saudi side for the warm welcome and noted his willingness to keep in touch with the regional Police Department.
