The Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the Symposium as part of the activities and programs of the Arab Creative Club of Culture and Art

On September 19, 2023, at the invitation of the Jeddah Culture and Art Club, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Jeddah, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Mr. Ruslan Kospanov attended a lecture by Dr. Abdurrahman al-Orabi, Professor of History and International Relations at the King Abdelaziz University in Jeddah, dedicated to the history and modern development of the city of Jeddah.

During the lecture, A.al-Orabi spoke about important milestones in the history of Jeddah, which influenced the further development of the city and its formation as a major trade and logistics center in the Western region of the Kingdom.

The participants of the event also had the opportunity to ask questions to the professor and express their opinions. In this regard, thanking for the invitation, Kazakhstani diplomat noted the role of the outstanding Soviet Kazakh diplomat Mr. Nazir Tyuryakulov, who was the first Ambassador and the USSR's Permanent Representative to the Kingdom, lived and worked in Jeddah, made a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation and bilateral relations between Saudi Arabia and the Soviet Union.

In addition, R.Kospanov supported the professor's position that Jeddah is an example of peaceful coexistence of representatives of different religions and in this regard stressed the similarity of views of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia on this important issue. In this context, he informed the audience about Kazakhstan's initiative to hold a Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and expressed gratitude to the Saudi side, including the World Islamic League, for supporting Kazakhstan's efforts to promote interfaith dialogue.

Consul General also mentioned the lecture participants about the current high level of Kazakh-Saudi bilateral relations. He noted that in his Address to the People of Kazakhstan "Economic course of a Just Kazakhstan", H.E. Mr. Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan identified the main vectors of economic and political development of the country, which provide for the activation and expansion of mutually beneficial partnership of Kazakhstan with the countries worldwide.

At the end of the meeting, Kazakhstani diplomat congratulated the audience on the upcoming National Day of the Kingdom, and also presented A.al-Orabi an Arabic version of the book by Ambassador T.Mansurov about Nazir Tyuryakulov.

In addition, Consulate General and Jeddah Culture and Art Club agreed to keep in touch for further interaction and search for ways to expand cooperation.
