Ambassador of Kazakhstan visited Danang city

On December 18, 2023, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Mr. Kanat Tumysh paid a working visit to the Danang city and held a meeting with its head, Chairman (Mayor) of the People's Committee of this city, Mr. Le Trung Chinh.

During a comprehensive dialogue and exchange of views, the parties discussed some topical issues of increased mutual cooperation in bilateral relations. In particular:

1) signing of an agreement on fraternal ties between the port cities of Aktau and Danang;

2) opening a direct flight from Kazakhstan to Danang, taking into account the growth of Kazakhstan's tourist flow from Kazakhstan to Vietnam, this proposal will be especially relevant after the entry into force of the visa-free regime in 2024;

3) intensification of cooperation of the Organization of Turkic states (OTS) countries with the Association of Southeast Asian states (ASEAN) within the framework of the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in OTS. The parties agreed that for this purpose, it would be very important to use the "middle corridor" for the maximum development and increase of transit-transport and multimodal-logistics potential along the route Vietnam-China-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan-Turkey-Europe to both ASEAN and OTS;

4) strengthening the work on the exchange of students and teaching staff between universities of the two countries, discussing the issue of strengthening scientific and humanitarian ties.

In turn, given the high level of relations between the two countries Mr. Le Trung Chinh noted the need to immediately sign a Memorandum on twinning between the cities of Danang and Almaty.
