The Ambassador of Kazakhstan visited the VinFast factory

On November 6, 2023, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Tumysh visited the VinFast electric vehicle factory located in Hai Phong Province.

VinFast is the first independent car manufacturer in Vietnam, the company was founded in 2017 by the largest Vietnamese conglomerate VinGroup with a total investment estimated at 3 billion US dollars. The company develops and manufactures its electric vehicle models in partnership with such leading global brands as BMW, Magna Steyr, AVL, EDAG, Pininfarina, ItalDesign, Bosch and Siemens.

During the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, Assitant to the Chairman of Vingroup and Mr. Chan Le Phuong, Deputy General Director of VinFast for External Relations, presented to the Ambassador the business strategy, main business lines and current activities of VinGroup, as well as the history of the creation and development of VinFast.

Ambassador Kanat Tumysh visited the assembly shops, which are characterized by a high degree of automation and robotization – there are about 1.2 thousand robots per 2,000 workers.

Taking into account VinFast's plans to increase the localization level to 60%, the parties also discussed prospects for cooperation in the production of automotive components in Vietnam from Kazakh products and materials.

There was also a high interest in gaining access to the market of Central Asia and Turkic countries, in particular Kazakhstan, as well as the investment of Vingoup/Vinfast in the possible production of the most advanced Vietnamese electric vehicles in our country - an environmentally cleaner type of transport compared to gasoline and diesel vehicles. This would be in unison with the recent important commitments made by Kazakhstan and Vietnam at the recent COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai, UAE.
