The Ambassador of Kazakhstan spoke at the «Vietnam-Eurasian Trade Forum»

On November 24, 2023, Kazakh Ambassador Kanat Tumysh took part in the «Vietnam-Eurasian Trade Forum» organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. His report was presented after the speech of the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shovgi Mehdizade.

It is important to note that the Kazakh diplomat acted as a speaker as a representative of the state-chairman of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). His presentation focused on the promotion of joint projects with Vietnam and ASEAN, in particular, with the participation of Turkic countries, as well as on trends and broad opportunities to promote trade, economic and investment cooperation in Eurasia, where Kazakhstan plays a role as a gateway to the region.

In his speech, Ambassador Kanat Tumysh also noted: "Despite geopolitical upheavals Kazakhstan keeps serving as an economic engine in and for Central Asia. Kazakhstan is the 9th largest country in the world with a diverse population of 20 million people. The country’s international reserves amount to about $94 billion, ensuring economic stability".

He further spoke about Kazakhstan's policy of diversifying the national economy, attracting foreign investment, doing business, the transport and logistics potential of our country, as well as the advantages of Kazakhstan's economic sectors.

During his speech, he stressed the key role of Kazakhstan in the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, which promotes economic development and intra-regional ties: "We strive to strengthen the physical connection between the nations and the people present here today, as well as strengthen the ties between our communities as partners and friends. Taking into account all these factors, now we can say that Kazakhstan is a truly global, and most importantly, a reliable trade and economic partner."

In addition, the Ambassador informed about the "Middle Corridor" initiative (Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, TITR), which, among other things, is aimed at connecting Southeast Asia with Europe through China and the Turkic states - Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey. The route of the Middle Corridor is actively promoted by the OTS, which includes Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan as full members, as well as Hungary and Turkmenistan as observers.

Concluding his speech, Kanat Tumysh noted the fruitful cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vietnam in many areas, especially in the trade and economic sphere, and also called on Vietnamese colleagues to consider the possibility of actively using the vast potential of TITR in the future.

This event was aimed at developing dialogue, developing partnerships and exploring the possibility of cooperation between Vietnamese enterprises and partners in Eurasian countries, including Kazakhstan and other Turkic countries.
