On October 16, 2023, Ambassador Kanat Tumysh visited Bac Ninh Province. During the visit, a working meeting was held with a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the CPV, Head of the provincial delegation of deputies of the Bac Ninh province of the National Assembly, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on August 20-22, 2023. In particular, the parties discussed an issue of establishing twin-city relations between one of the border regions of Kazakhstan and Bac Ninh province, which ranks second in the country in terms of exports and has significant economic and humanitarian potential.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan Kanat Tumysh, having informed about the economic course of the New Kazakhstan implemented by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Kazakh regions with a similar level of development and economic structure to the province, proposed to consider the Almaty and East Kazakhstan regions as the establishment of twin-city relations. These administrative-territorial units have high industrial, agricultural, transport and logistics, tourism and investment potential, and also border with the China, through which the roads and railways connecting Kazakhstan and Vietnam pass.
Nguyen Anh Tuan expressed interest in establishing close ties with the mentioned regions and confirmed his intention to invest in the national economy of Kazakhstan. In particular, the Vietnamese side is ready to consider the possibility of making capital investments in an investment project for the construction of an innovative plant for the production of livestock feed. Thus, Vietnam aims to become a hub for Kazakh products in the Southeast Asian region in the foreseeable future. This is also relevant given the planned expansion of ties between ASEAN and the Organization of Turkic States, where Kazakhstan will assume the chairmanship next month.
Ambassador Kanat Tumysh also visited a special national shrine of Vietnam, the Phat Tic Pagoda, as part of his visit to the province.
