On March 6, 2025, an online webinar was held on Kazakhstan’s potential in the field of Critical Raw Materials (CRM). This sector is playing an increasingly important role in the global economy and opening new opportunities for bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands. The heads and staff of the Embassies of both countries in Astana and The Hague paid particular attention to this issue.
Kazakhstan’s significant potential in this area was highlighted, along with the country’s readiness to offer favorable conditions for foreign investors to participate in the extraction and processing of CRM, as well as to enhance the exchange of advanced technologies. The country's key role in global supply chains and the steady development of bilateral cooperation open new opportunities for business and scientific research.
The keynote speech was delivered by Simon Glancy, Director of Strategic Solutions, who shared the results of a study that included more than 20 interviews with representatives of Kazakhstani government bodies and businesses. In his presentation, he outlined Kazakhstan’s international agreements, the competitive advantages of its national resource base, state support measures for investors, and the prospects for industry development.
The event attracted the attention of business representatives, government structures, and the scientific community in the Netherlands, confirming the strong interest in cooperation in the extraction, processing, and supply of strategically important resources.
