Kazakhstan and the Netherlands – Concrete Achievements in Tourism

The Hague, February 24, 2025 – A testament to Kazakhstan’s growing attractiveness for European tourists is the activity of the company NOMADventure, one of the founders of which, Bram Over, visited our Embassy in The Hague. In a conversation with Ambassador Kairat Abdrakhmanov, he recounted his decade-long journey of discovering the magnificent mountain landscapes of Kazakhstan during multi-day hiking expeditions in the Almaty region.

By now organizing regular group tours for Dutch tourists, the company places special emphasis on nature conservation, the principles of sustainable development, and personal growth. This approach harmoniously aligns with the plans of the Government of Kazakhstan, which, under the directives of national leadership, is actively developing the tourism potential of its regions.

Bram Over expressed his satisfaction with the expanding cooperation with his partners in Kazakhstan, who, together with the tourist sites, ensure a high level of service and are working on geographically expanding the network of hiking routes, including trekking trails that are extremely popular among Dutch enthusiasts. The global Born Bold campaign, which positions Kazakhstan as a modern, dynamic, and innovative country with a rich cultural heritage, also attracts the attention of the European public. Additionally, the newly introduced Neo Nomad visas for digital nomads—allowing foreign specialists to work remotely while combining professional activities with travel—provide an extra impetus to tourism.

The strengthening cooperation in tourism contributes tangible substance to the traditionally friendly relations between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
