The Embassy welcomed students and professionals from the Center for European Security Studies

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands has hosted guest experts from the Center for European Security Studies and students from the Groningen University to talk about the latest trends in Central Asia.

The event was initiated by the CESS - an independent institute for research and training in the topics of security and good governance, based in Groningen, the Netherlands. It was established in 1993 and has produced countless policy-oriented research papers and briefs since. Notably, they have created The Europe-Central Asia Monitoring (EUCAM) programme to promote studies in Central Asia and create working papers on the topics of European external policies and local political developments.

EUCAM is currently leading a series of lectures from experts on Central Asia. They have already conducted 10 sessions with different academics from our region, as well as the European researchers. The Embassy was kind to host the event in the series, where the Ambassador Askar Zhumagaliyev had met with students and professionals from different countries to discuss existing economic ties and cooperation in the educational sector between our counties. Moreover, they have conversed about the achievements and successes of Kazakhstan over the 30 years of Independence in reforming the political, economic and social spheres of life, as well as measures taken to support and implement state youth policy.

The attendees of the lecture were glad to visit the Embassy, as well as to join discussions with members of our Embassy and expressed further interest in Kazakhstan and its culture. They expressed their readiness to take part in more events and thanked the Embassy for their involvement in the EUCAM series.
