Almaty region welcomes the Dutch business delegation

A Dutch business delegation visited the Almaty region.  The visit was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Kazakh Invest JSC.

More than 20 representatives of Dutch businesses, led by the Mayor of Westland Municipality Bouke Arends, have visited Kazakhstan to expand on economic ties between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The represented businesses included industry leaders such as “Koppert”, “Grodan”, and “Dutch Greenhouse Delta”. As part of their stay, the delegation has come to Almaty region to confer about the prospects of exchanging experience on greenhouse technologies with the local businesses and authorities.

Mayor Bouke Arends met with the Akim of the region – Marat Sultangaziyev. In the private conversation they discussed the potential for collaboration of Kazakhstan and Netherlands in production of agricultural crops. Additionally, the Mayor and the Dutch delegation were invited to tour across greenhouses in the region, where they saw the latest progress in the technologies implemented in Kazakhstan.

The two sides have agreed on further collaboration in the development of technologies for greenhouses. Such ventures between countries could contribute to the improved food security in Central Asia, as well as enhance Kazakhstan’s export potential. In turn, the Netherlands can benefit from the logistic opportunities and extensive resources that Kazakhstan has to offer.

This meeting helped to strengthen the economic relations between the two countries, especially in the agricultural sector. The investment events provided an opportunity for productive talks and the formation of enduring partnerships.
