The latest meeting of the Dutch-Kazakh business association was held in the Netherlands

Askar Zhumagaliyev took part in the event "Meet-the-Ambassadors", organized by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands, Henk Nieboer. It was one of the many activities arranged by the "Netherlands-Kazakhstan Business Association". During the event, Askar Zhumagaliyev and Andre Carstens, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with numerous business representatives interested in establishing cooperation between our countries.

The participants of the event positively noted the role of the Embassy in the diversification of bilateral economic relations. The developments in various economic sectors contributed to an increase of Dutch investment in the Kazakhstani market. To date, the Netherlands is the biggest investor in the economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the results of 2022, the volume of foreign direct investment (FDI) amounted to $8.3 billion and reached a record $113 billion.

In his speech, Askar Zhumagaliyev told the participants of the event about extensive opportunities in agriculture, transport and logistics, the development of green energy, mining and metallurgical complex and a number of other areas.

Remarkably, in addition to economic aspects, the participants were interested in the issues of political modernization of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this regard, political reforms, as well as the timing and the importance of the presidential and parliamentary elections were explained. It was noted that the reforms laid the foundation for the political development of Kazakhstan and prompted the progress of democratic institutions.

After the presentations, business representatives had the opportunity to discuss their own inquiries and projects. They were interested in smart city destinations, hydrogen production, poultry farming, dairy production, and tourism. Ambassador Zhumagaliyev answered every question, stressing that Kazakhstan actively supports all of these industries, and welcomed the guests to the country’s markets.

The participants of the event also discussed possible business projects in Kazakhstan and ways to enter the market as investors, outlining plans for the future and considering in which regions of the country they should work.

The business representatives noted that they saw attractive market niches for themselves, as well as the potential for further growth and cooperation between the two countries.
