President meets with Shell executives

November 9, 2022, Astana, Akorda - The Head of State met with Shell CEO Mr. Ben van Beurden and Director of the company's Integrated Gas, Renewables and Energy Solutions Unit Mr. Wael Sawan.

They discussed prospects for cooperation in the oil, gas and energy sectors. Particular attention was paid to the further development of the Karachaganak and Kashagan fields.

The President thanked Ben van Beurden, who will soon be leaving his post, for his contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's oil and gas industry and wished success to Wael Sawan, who will take over. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed confidence that his work will contribute to further development of mutually beneficial partnership with our country.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of State awarded Ben van Beurden the Second Degree Order of Dostyk (Friendship), for his significant contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry.
