Kazakhstanis will be able to study at the best university in the field of water engineering in the world

Delft, June 17, 2022 - Kazakhstani students will be able to get higher education at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, which is the largest international higher education institution in the field of water resources in the world.  Both sides - Kazakhstan and the Netherlands represented by the university management - expressed interest in cooperation.

«Our university offers both two-year courses for undergraduates and short-term ones. Part of the training is conducted online. At the end of 2 years, that is, the study of the theoretical base, we move on to practice – joint research with the student in the field of water resources and engineering», said Rector of the University Eddie Moores during a meeting with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands Askar Zhumagaliyev.

Studies at the university are conducted in four main areas: Water Hazards, Risks and Climate; Water and Health; Water, Food and Energy; Water Resources и Ecosystem Health. The study of these disciplines is possible through different profiles: Engineering and Hydrology, Management and Management, Environment or Digital Technologies and  Innovation. In addition, students can combine profiles to create their own individual program in accordance with  own specific interests and needs.

«The Netherlands is the undisputed leader in the field of water engineering. Part of the country's territory was obtained by draining a section of the North Sea and building a 30 km Afsluitendijk dam. In addition, local specialists, thanks to advanced technologies and high–tech approaches, were able to build a real miracle of modern architecture - an artificial Palm Island in the UAE. I am very glad that our students will be able to gain tremendous experience and quality education at this university», said the Ambassador during a meeting with representatives of IHE DELFT.
