Gratitude Day celebrated at the Embassy of Kazakhstan

For 6 years in a row 1st of March is celebrated in Kazakhstan as Gratitude Day.

The Embassy not stand aside and invited their compatriots to the movie. The guests were shown the film «Zheruyik» («Promised Land») by Kazakh director Slambek Tauekel and enjoyed traditional dastarkhan with baursak.

It is not a coincidence that this movie was chosen. It is dedicated to all emigrants from all over the world and is a sign of gratitude to the sacred land of Kazakhstan, which became a homeland for all those who found themselves in these lands, despite the incredible hardships after the jut of the 1930s.

On this very day representatives of all ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan may express gratitude to each other and Kazakhs for tolerance and hospitality during the years of deportation to Kazakhstan. The holiday is celebrated the nationwide for it symbolizes the common historical memory, unity, respect and solidarity of the people of Kazakhstan.
