The possibility of creating a dairy farm in Kazakhstan was discussed in the Netherlands

Ambassador of Kazakhstan A. Zhumagaliyev visited Floating farm and held a meeting with CEO Peter van Wingerden. During the meeting, the parties discussed new technologies in the production of milk and dairy products and the possibility of implementing a project in Kazakhstan.

The uniqueness of this dairy farm Floating farm lies in the fact that it is located on the water. The company noted that their "floating" farm is the very first in the world. The building itself consists of three levels: on the lower part (below the water level) there is a mini-cheese factory and a warehouse for dairy products, on the second level milk is collected and various dairy products are produced, and on the third level there are cows. In addition, the farm is powered by solar panels and has tanks to collect rainwater, which is filtered and fed to the cows for drinking. The company also noted that the "floating" farm is circular farming, with most of the cows' diet consisting of organic waste streams from the city. For example, cows are fed beer grain from several breweries in Rotterdam, bran from Schiedam windmills, grass from nearby sports fields, and potato peels from a local processor.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan noted that the livestock sector, including the production of milk and dairy products, is in the focus of attention of the government. As part of the strategy for the development of the agro-industrial complex, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan plans to increase the volume of lending to farms for the purchase of livestock, stimulate fodder production, develop transhumance and pasture infrastructure, as well as stimulate the introduction of modern breeding methods, including artificial insemination and embryo transplantation.

Also, the Kazakh side informed about the potential of the dairy industry in the country, measures of state support and sales markets, and also noted the readiness of local businesses to cooperate in the production of milk and dairy products.

The representative of the Company expressed interest in establishing production in Kazakhstan and providing support for the development of a sustainable dairy sector.
