Ambassador Askar Zhumagaliyev together with Kazakh Invest met with a number of Dutch companies in the field of dairy production

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands Askar Zhumagaliyev held a number of meetings with the heads of the Dutch companies Vecozuivel, Schep Groep and Dutch Farm Plan operating in the dairy sector.

During the meetings, the parties discussed the issues of increasing the production of milk and dairy products in Kazakhstan by increasing the productivity of livestock and establishing reproduction technology.

The heads of the companies presented their activities and noted the importance of having qualified specialists, an adequate feed base and established export markets for the successful development of the industry in Kazakhstan.

The ambassador noted that the sphere of animal husbandry, including the production of milk and dairy products, is in the focus of the government's attention. As part of the strategy for the development of the agro-industrial complex, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan plans to increase the volume of lending to farms for the purchase of livestock, stimulate feed production, develop distant pasture farming and pasture infrastructure, as well as stimulate the introduction of modern breeding methods, including artificial insemination and embryo transplantation.

In turn, during the negotiations, it was noted that, along with technologies, the organizational structure and principles of pricing in the Dutch dairy business have become an important driver of high productivity. Farmers' cooperatives are the backbone of the production chain in the Netherlands, while the milk processing plant is also often owned by the cooperative, i.e. farmers are co-owners of the plant through a cooperative.

Also, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands and Kazakh Invest informed about the potential of the dairy industry in Kazakhstan, measures of state support and sales markets, and also noted the willingness of local businesses to cooperate in the production of milk and dairy products.

Company representatives expressed interest in developing business in Kazakhstan and providing support for the development of the dairy sector.
