Askar Zhumagaliyev presented letter of gratitude from the Head of the State to Zifa Auezova - granddaughter of the outstanding Kazakh writer and scientist Mukhtar Auezov

14 October 2021 - As part of the celebration of the 175th anniversary of the birth of the great Abai Kunanbayev, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands Askar Zhumagaliyev presented a letter of gratitude from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Dr. Zifa-Alua Muratovna Auezova, the granddaughter of the outstanding Kazakh writer and scientist Mukhtar Auezov.

In his letter, the Head of State expresses the significant role of Zifa Auezova in strengthening cultural interaction and friendship between our countries, as well as the most important role in promoting the cultural values ​​of the Kazakh people among the population of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

In addition, the professional activities of Zifa Muratovna and her husband, Dutch scientist, Arabist, Doctor of Science in Linguistics Robert Emers, who made a significant contribution to the republishing of the Dutch version of the Abai’s “Words of Wisdom”, was also marked by a letter from the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan Aktoty Raiymkulova.

For their part, the guests expressed gratitude for the high assessment of their work and confirmed their readiness to further promote bilateral cultural relations. Within the framework of the meeting, they also discussed the possibility of holding events dedicated to the celebration of the anniversaries of prominent Kazakh figures such as Z. Zhabayev (175 y.), M. Makatayev (90 y.), A. Bokeikhanov (155 y.), Y. Altynsarin (180 y.), K. Munaitpasov (150 y.), as well as 125 years since the birth of M. Auezov in 2022.

Dr. Zifa-Alua Muratovna has a PhD, she is historian of literature, scientist and one of the authors of the translation of the book of Great Abai "Words of Wisdom" into Dutch.
