As part of the Victory Day celebrations, representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands visited the Field of Glory, the burial place of Soviet soldiers who fought in the Netherlands during World War II.  The events were attended by representatives of the embassies of the CIS countries, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the regional administration.

Embassy representatives honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives in the fight against fascism and the liberation of the Netherlands.  In total, out of 865 heroes, 100 are believed to be natives of Central Asia.

For reference: on May 4, 1975, an obelisk was erected on the Field of Glory.  The monument was made in the USSR from white marble.  It is a ten-meter column with the inscription "Glory to the Heroes. Soldiers of the Soviet Army who died fighting the German invaders in the period 1941-1945".  865 Soviet soldiers and officers are buried on the field of glory.
