The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands met with potato seed producer «Solynta»

16 March 2021, Wageningen - The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands Askar Zhumagaliev met with Charles Miller, Commercial Director of «Solynta», to discuss cooperation in the field of potato seed production in Kazakhstan.

In the meeting the parties discussed the production of potato seeds, the Company's participation in the construction of a potato processing plant, and the supply of super elite potato seeds to Kazakhstan.

Charles Miller presented the activities of the Company and noted that «Solynta» hybrid potatoes are not-GMO. With about 25 grams of Solynta potato seeds (instead of 2,500 kg of seed tubers), one hectare can be planted, thereby reducing transport costs and making planting material available to more farmers in developing countries. Solynta potato seeds reduce the number of diseases caused by viruses and other pathogens, thereby increasing yields.

The Ambassador informed about the potential of the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan, measures of state support and sales markets for agricultural products, and the readiness of local businesses and national institutions in cooperation in the field of potato growing.

The Company's management has expressed interest in developing business in Kazakhstan and providing support for the development of the potato industry in Kazakhstan.
