President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif

Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received at the Akorda residence the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, who arrived in Nur-Sultan to participate in a meeting of the Astana Club international discussion platform.

The interlocutors discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as pressing issues of the regional and international agenda.

Welcoming the Iranian diplomat, the Head of State recalled a fruitful meeting with President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Yerevan in October this year. The head of state noted that he was waiting for his Iranian counterpart to visit Nur Sultan at a convenient time for him.

The Iranian Foreign Minister thanked Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev for the warm welcome he received in the capital of Kazakhstan.

Mohammad Javad Zarif shared his impressions of the work of the Astana Club, praising the presentation of the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at the plenary meeting of the forum and the constructive atmosphere of the event.
