Representatives of the tourism industry from 60 countries of the world arrived in Nur Sultan

Nur Sultan hosts the international tourism exhibition PATA Travel Mart. The capital won the right to host the exhibition in competition with the largest cities in Asia. Over the past 68 years, the event is being held for the first time outside the Asia-Pacific region. More than 1000 representatives of the tourism industry from 60 countries take part in the exhibition. 

               Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Sports B. Temirbolat noted that Kazakhstan has established a visa-free regime with 63 countries, with each year increasing the number of flights connecting the country with world capitals. In his speech, akim of the capital A. Kulginov emphasized that three main directions of development of the tourism industry in the capital were identified. The first is event tourism: recently, the world hosted the ice hockey championship in the capital, the first Central Asian festival Comic Con 2019, IRON MAN 70.3 World Championship Wrestling. The second direction is medical tourism. Of the 7 organizations accredited by JCI, 6 are in the capital. The third direction is the capital - the congress and exhibition center of Eurasia. 

               More than 70 events are held annually, almost a quarter are business events. “During the trip to the Zhezkazgan-Ulytau region, Head of State Kassym Zhomart Kemelovich noted that special attention should be paid to tourism as the main industry of our economy. Over the past 10 years, the number of tourists visiting our city and the number of hotels has more than doubled. This year, Nur-Sultan first entered the ranking of 200 global tourist destinations of Master Card. It pleases us. For the further development of this type of industry, on behalf of the Head of State, it is planned to open an international university of tourism, ”A. Kulginov said. 

               According to the chairman of the RATA association K. Bottrill, 10 thousand meetings will be held in the capital with representatives of the global business community in two days. “Kazakhstan is the 9th largest country in the world. This is an unusual nature, all the conditions for creating and running a business are created. The main purpose of such meetings is the promotion of domestic and foreign tour operators, the strengthening of cooperation, ”said K. Bottrill. The exhibition takes place in the EC “Korma” from September 18-20.
