She stressed that together we can survive any difficulties, the main thing is to maintain unity and not give up hope. Permanent Representative also quoted the words of the great thinker and poet Abay Kunanbayev, whose bust was gifted by Kazakhstan to the United Nations building in Geneva in 2020 commemorating his 175th anniversary: «Қары қалың қатты қыстың артынан көгі мол, жақсы жаз келмеуші ме еді» (Misfortune does not last forever, even a harsh winter is followed by a fruitful spring).
In 2009 Nauryz was included to the list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity by UNESCO and in 2010 the holiday of Nauryz was recognized by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day of Nauryz.
The holiday of Nauryz, as a common cultural heritage of many peoples, is a symbol of the renewal of nature and celebration of life, provides an opportunity to demonstrate solidarity, fraternity and friendship, and is celebrated at the United Nations level.
