The trade agreements between Kazakhstan and Armenia have been fulfilled by 90 %. The remaining 10% are of a long-term nature and work on them is carried out on an ongoing basis. This and other results of the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, which was held in 2017 in Yerevan, were announced today during the next meeting by Vice-Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev.
Thus, Kairat Torebayev said that the procedure for approval by the parties under the 4 bilateral agreements in the field of labor and social protection of the population, migration, diplomacy, and road transport is still ongoing.
The Vice Minister focused on the main aspects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation:
- To maintain the positive dynamics of mutual trade, further diversification of trade flows is required. The potential for increasing exports of processed products is confirmed by the presence of 50 commodity items worth $230.9 million.
In this regard, today the Vice-Minister presented a number of specific proposals from Kazakhstan. Local companies are interested in business cooperation with Armenia. Thus, the business is ready to implement projects on the construction of railways and highways, modernization of heating networks, supply cars, and provide space technology services on the Armenian market.
In addition, he offered products of Kazakhstani manufacturers: X-ray machines of Aktubrentgen JSC, carpet products of Bal Textile LLP, flour and pasta of Tsesna-Astyk Concern LLP, drinks of Pure Pack LLP.
It was reported that in October of this year, the joint business forum will already be held in the traditional mode, at which it is expected to consolidate the May agreements and sign real commercial contracts.
Today, the Minutes of the 8th meeting were signed, which, as the representative of Armenia noted, is of a concrete nature, and is the result of a lot of preparatory work.
According to the Armenian side, taking into account the prerequisites that are built on the existing dynamics, trade and economic relations between the two countries should develop more intensively.
