Qatar views Kazakhstan as an important partner in the field of food security

Doha, May 19, 2024 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar Arman Issagaliev met with the Minister of Municipality of Qatar Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah.

During the conversation, the parties noted the progressive development of bilateral cooperation in the field of food security, including within the framework of the Islamic Organization for Food Security. The Kazakh diplomat noted with satisfaction the 13-fold increase in exports of Kazakh meat to Qatar in the first quarter of 2024.

In turn, the Qatari side noted that it attaches great importance to the agricultural sector and the development of modern technologies. In this context, the Minister of Municipality of Qatar confirmed its readiness for strong cooperation with Kazakhstan on food security issues within the framework of the National Development Strategy of Qatar.

Following the meeting, the parties reviewed a plan for mutual visits and joint events at a high level to further strengthen Kazakh-Qatari strategic cooperation.
