Qatar is eager to expand cooperation in the field of tourism

Doha, April 25, 2024 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar Arman Issagaliyev met with the Chairman of the Qatar Tourism Saad Al-Kharji and discussed issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism.

During the conversation, the parties noted the progressive growth of tourist flows between the two countries. The Kazakh diplomat provided detailed information on specific measures taken to develop tourism destinations in the country.

In this regard, a great demand among citizens and residents of Qatar for organized tours to Kazakhstan was noted. According to official statistics, in 2022, 553 Qatari citizens visited our country, and last year their number was almost 1 thousand, along with several thousand residents - non-citizens of Qatar, who annually visit Kazakhstan for the purpose of tourism.

In turn, the Chairman of Qatar Tourism confirmed his country’s interest in continuing cooperation with Kazakhstan and noted the huge potential for the implementation of joint projects.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize mutual visits of relevant government agencies in the near future in order to exchange best practices in developing tourism infrastructure and increasing the tourist attractiveness of countries.
