Kazakhstan and Qatar are expanding cooperation in the energy sector

Astana, October 21, 2023 - As part of the visit of Qatari business to Astana, the leadership of the Samruk-Kazyna, QazaqGaz and Samruk-Energy held a meeting with the Chief Director for Business Development of Nebras Power, Faisal Al Siddiqi.

The parties discussed the possibilities of interaction in the energy sector, including renewable energy sources. As a result, an agreement was reached on a more detailed study of the prospects for cooperation.

Also, as part of the visit of the Qatari delegation, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC Nurlan Zhakupov and the Head of the Regional Investment Department of the Qatar Investment Authority, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani. The parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the field of investment. Nurlan Zhakupov confirmed his readiness to strengthen cooperation in all key areas and noted the importance of the partnership between the two sovereign funds.
