Kazakhstan and Qatar strengthen economic cooperation

In the period from June 20-22 this year, the Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov visited Doha to participate in the Qatar Economic Forum on the topic «Leveling the pace of global economic recovery».

The remarkable event is powered by Bloomberg, under the patronage of the Amir of the State of Qatar. The forum's key theme is managing the nations’ ways out of the economic crisis.

During the visit, A. Kuantyrov met with the Minister of Trade and Industry of the State of Qatar - Co-Chairman of the Kazakh-Qatari high-level Commission Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Thani, Finance Minister of the State Ali Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of the Qatar Investment Fund - «Qatar Investment Authority» Mansour bin Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, as well as the heads of several large Qatari holdings.

During the talks, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation on economic diversification, the development of the transport and logistics sector in the current conditions on the world market, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements in the trade, economic and investment spheres within the framework of the Kazakh-Qatari high-level commission were touched upon.

Kuantyrov noted that Kazakhstan is always open to foreign investors and will continue to fully fulfill its obligations and guarantees to partners.
