Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan paid a visit to Qatar
On March 10, 2022, a delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Karashukeyev, paid a working visit to Doha to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries and attract investment in the agricultural sector.
During the visit, E.Karashukeyev met with the Minister of Qatar Municipality Abdullah bin Turki Al-Subaie, Chairman of the Board of the national company «Hassad Food» Mohammed Badr Al-Sada, discussing with them the prospects for the implementation of joint investment projects in the field of food security.
During his stay in Doha, the Kazakh Minister took part in the opening of the international exhibition of agricultural, veterinary and environmental technologies «AgriteQ» and «EnviroteQ», which takes place in Qatar from March 10 to 14. This year, Kazakh companies-producers of agricultural products, in particular, meat, flour, honey, sunflower oil and pasta, as well as the Kazakh National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center and the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University are taking part in this exhibition.
Speaking at a conference organized on this exhibition, Minister E.Karashukeev informed those present in detail about the potential of the Kazakh agricultural sector, measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to develop this industry and support Kazakh agricultural producers.
On the sidelines of this event, the head of the Kazakh delegation met with the Prime Minister - Minister of Internal Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Khaled bin Khalifa Al Thani and Minister of Industry and Trade Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassem Al Thani.
In addition, as part of the visit program, E.Karashukeev visited the largest dairy farm in Qatar "Baladna", which produces fresh natural milk and dairy products, covering up to 95% of the needs of the Qatari market in these products. Qatari investors express a desire to implement such a vertically integrated project in Kazakhstan.
