Kazakhstan and Qatar expand cooperation in the field of civil aviation

On November 20-21, 2021, as part of the opening of the first flight, bilateral negotiations were held between the aviation authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State of Qatar with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Qatar, «Air Astana» and «Qatar Airways» airlines.

The delegation of Kazakhstan was headed by Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev, and Qatar`s by Acting President of the Aviation authorities of the GC Mohamed Faleh Al-Hajri.

During the talks, the parties discussed a number of issues of cooperation in the field of civil aviation, including the draft intergovernmental Agreement on air traffic and the further expansion of air traffic between the two countries.

Following the negotiations, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding, according to which the text of the draft Agreement on Air Traffic was agreed.
