On the eve of the 30th anniversary of Independence, Kazakhstan will hold a number of cultural events in Qatar

This was agreed during the meeting of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Doha A. Issagaliyev with the General Director of the "Cultural Village – Katara" Foundation Khaled Ibrahim Al-Suleiti, held on August 1 this year.

Particularly, in honor of the celebration of this significant anniversary date, the Kazakh diplomat proposed to organize photo and art exhibitions, concerts of classical music, opera and folklore groups, as well as screenings of Kazakh feature films at the Katara venues.

Dr. H. Al-Suleiti highlighted the interest in cooperation with Kazakhstan in the cultural direction and the importance of holding these events to familiarize Qataris with the rich and interesting culture and historical heritage of the Kazakh people.

The parties also agreed to hold the Day of Kazakhstan in "Katara" and to open a Kazakhstan corner in the planetarium "Al Thuraya", located in this complex.

Created on the initiative of the Emir-Father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the complex "Cultural Village – Katara" is a unique and multifaceted project that unites all world cultures. The complex includes opera and drama theaters, concert halls and outdoor venues, exhibition galleries, ultra-modern film and sound recording studios, thanks to which Katara strives to become a world leader in the field of multicultural activities. Every year, international, regional and local festivals, exhibitions, and performances of world stars are held here.

The name of the cultural village was borrowed from ancient sources. Since 150 AD, "Katara" has been the first and oldest name of the Qatar Peninsula on geographical and historical maps.
