Kazakhstan will become the center for the development of athletics in the Asian League

On May 28, President of the Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan Danial Akhmetov paid a working visit to Qatar to participate in the ceremony of holding the most prestigious stage of the Diamond League of the World Athletics Association in Doha. As part of this event, he met with the head of the Qatar Olympic Committee, Sheikh Jawan bin Hamad Al Thani.
During his visit to Qatar, the head of the Kazakh organization also held talks with the President of the Asian Athletics Association Dahlan Al-Hamad.
During the meeting, a principal agreement in principle was reached on the opening of a regional center for the development of athletics of the Asian Association in the city of Nur-Sultan and the progress of preparations for the X Asian Indoor Championships, which will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan in February next year, was discussed.
In addition, the issue of Kazakhstan's participation in the campaign for the right to host the World Indoor Championships in Athletics in 2024 was raised.
Dakhlan Al-Hamad was informed by Danial Akhmetov about specific infrastructural solutions in Kazakhstan, implemented by the National Federation in the framework of the development of the "queen of sports" in the country.
On the same day, Danial Akhmetov met with the Vice-President of the Olympic Council of Asia and the President of the Qatar Athletics Federation Tani Abdurahman Al-Kawari. The heads of sports organizations exchanged views on the development of the sport and agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation between the parties.
As part of the delegation, Kazakhstan was represented by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Qatar A. Issagaliyev and represented by the Athletics Federation of Kazakhstan: Vice President Almaskhan Smatlaev, Secretary General Askhat Seisembek, and also a member of the Conference Denis Rypakov.
