Ambassador of Kazakhstan met with Minister of Municipality and Environment of Qatar

On October 22, 2020, Ambassador A. Isagaliyev met with the Minister of Municipality and Environmental Protection of the State of Qatar, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaye, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between two countries.

This Ministry is the largest in the Government of Qatar. It is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including the agricultural sector, food security, infrastructure development of the capital and environmental protection.

During the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat noted the great potential for full-scale cooperation in the agricultural sector. In particular, they discussed the possibility of supplying Kazakhstani meat, grain and other agricultural products to Qatar, as well as a number of promising investment projects in the agricultural sector on territory of Kazakhstan.

The parties also discussed the interaction of the two countries within the framework of the Islamic Organization for Food Security.

During the upcoming state visit of the Emir of Qatar to Kazakhstan, it is planned to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of Qatar and an Agreement on the establishment of twinning relations between the capitals of the two states - Nur-Sultan and Doha.
