President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Sunil Barty Mittal, founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises and British company OneWeb on the sidelines of the International Technology Forum Digital Bridge 2022, held on September 28-29 in Astana

At the meeting, the parties discussed the use of low-orbit satellites and a network of ground stations for Internet coverage of remote settlements.

In addition, Sunil Mittal was a speaker at one of the main panels of the forum, which this year is held under the title "Central Eurasia as a new technological platform." In his speech at the Digital Bridge 2022 session, he spoke about the opportunities for developing an innovative digital services market in the country and the partnership between OneWeb and the government of Kazakhstan, which successfully started several years ago.

Digital Bridge International Forum is one of the most significant IT events in Kazakhstan and is held annually with the participation of the Head of State.

Traditionally, the Forum is attended by leaders of the international IT community, Kazakhstani and foreign technology experts, digital development professionals, IT companies and startups, venture investors, technology entrepreneurs, representatives of government agencies and the media.

The organizers are the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Astana city and the international technopark of IT start-ups Astana hub.
