Topical Issues of CICA were Discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan

Nur-Sultan, April 28, 2021 – The CICA Task Force consisting of the Heads of the Departments of the Foreign Ministry chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Shakhrat Nuryshev held a meeting.

During the event, participants discussed the progress of the implementation of the tasks for the near future of Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the CICA (2020-2022), the upcoming events and ways to effectively promote the Catalogue of Confidence Building Measures.

Mr. Nuryshev emphasized that the main priority of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship is the institutional development of the Conference. Particular attention of the participants was focused on preparation for the 6^th Ministerial Meeting in 2021 and the CICA Summit in 2022, commemorating the 30^th Anniversary of the Conference.

The Executive Director of the CICA Secretariat Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, who also took part in the event, spoke about the work carried out by the Secretariat to promote the CICA process and expressed hope that close interaction between the Kazakh chairmanship and the Secretariat would contribute to the effective implementation of the tasks.
