On amendments and additions to the rules for issuing invitations and issuing visas of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In connection with the changes made to the joint order of the acting Minister of foreign Affairs dated 24th November 2016 No. 11-1-2/555 and the Minister of internal Affairs of Kazakhstan of November 28, 2016 No. 1100 "On approval of Rules of registration of invitations, coordination of invitations for the entry of foreigners and persons without citizenship in the Republic of Kazakhstan, issuance, cancellation, restoration of visas of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and also prolongation and reducing terms of their action" (hereinafter - the Rules) on September 18, 2020:

in order to implement the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan of 25 November 2019 "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on issues of rendering state services", the procedure (standards and regulations) the provision of public services provided by the Ministries of interior, foreign Affairs and the diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Ministry of internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan will provide state services - "Acceptance and approval of invitations of receiving persons for issuing visas of the Republic of Kazakhstan", " Issuance, restoration or extension of visas for foreigners and stateless persons on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the right to leave the Republic of Kazakhstan and enter the Republic of Kazakhstan»:

The Ministry of foreign Affairs and foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan - "Issuance and extension of visas for entry into the Republic of Kazakhstan and transit through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

- transferred the authority to issue visas at international airports of Kazakhstan to the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- the procedure for issuing an electronic visa is regulated.

The list of 109 countries whose citizens can receive single-entry business, tourist and medical visas in electronic format has been expanded and approved. The state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be crossed at all international airports in Kazakhstan;

- former compatriots are granted the right to receive multiple-entry visas for private travel for up to three (3) years on the basis of an application;

- increased the validity of visas for investors from 3 (three) to 5 (five) years;

- in order to implement the constitutional law of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 2019 "on amendments and additions to certain constitutional laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan", the procedure for obtaining visas for investment residents of the Astana International financial center is defined»;

-the requirement to submit to the migration service a request from local Executive bodies of the capital, cities of national significance and regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan when issuing an invitation for business immigrants was canceled;

- it is possible to change the visa categories "B10" (private), "C3" (work) and "C9" (study) to a visa category "C2" (family reunion) on the territory of Kazakhstan;

- lifted restrictions on extension of visa of category "C7" foreigners engaged in missionary activity in Kazakhstan, with the written consent of the authorized body of the RK in the sphere of religious activities (formerly in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan the visa was allowed to renew one time only).
