After the wreath-laying ceremony, all participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen soldiers.
The laying of the wreaths at the monument to Soviet soldiers is a tribute to all those who gave their heads in the struggle against the fascist invaders.
The Budapest Operation, a strategic offensive executed by Soviet troops from October 29, 1944, to February 13, 1945, was a pivotal event in the global context of World War II. The operation's primary objective was to vanquish the Axis armies and facilitate Hungary's withdrawal from the war. The operation's magnitude is underscored by the fact that over 720,000 soldiers participated, with 80,000 being permanently lost and more than 240,000 experiencing medical casualties. It is noteworthy that the operation also involved participation from Kazakhstani soldiers.
