Budapest, November 7, 2024 - A meeting took place in Budapest between Kazakh Ambassador Abzal Saparbekuly and the management of Gedeon Richter, one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in Central and Eastern Europe. The discussion centered on expanding cooperation, strengthening the company’s presence in Kazakhstan, and exploring possibilities for localizing production.
During the meeting, Ambassador Saparbekuly emphasized the significance of the partnership with Gedeon Richter, which, since entering the Kazakhstani market in 1996, has made a substantial contribution to the development of the national pharmaceutical sector and has become a key player in Kazakhstan’s healthcare industry.
“Kazakhstan is interested in further expanding Gedeon Richter’s activities and is prepared to provide all necessary conditions for establishing production facilities in our country. This will strengthen the company’s position in Central Asia and increase access to high-quality medicines for the people of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries,” noted the Ambassador.
The parties discussed favorable conditions for foreign investors in Kazakhstan, which attracts more than 70% of all foreign direct investment in Central Asia. Ambassador Saparbekuly highlighted that the consistently high level of investment is a result of economic reforms and support measures that create comfortable conditions for doing business.
Gedeon Richter’s management expressed interest in exploring opportunities for localizing production in Kazakhstan, noting that this aligns with the company’s long-term strategy to strengthen its presence in the Central Asian region. The company also emphasized the importance of support provided by the Kazakh government and valued the opportunities available through Kazakhstan’s favorable investment climate and tax benefits.
In conclusion, the Ambassador expressed confidence that expanding cooperation with Gedeon Richter will bring tangible results to Kazakhstan’s healthcare system and create new opportunities for both sides. The parties agreed to continue their collaboration and consultations on the localization of Gedeon Richter’s production in Kazakhstan.
